Rabbi Andrea Cohen-Kiener – Leads Shabbat Services

Rabbi Andrea was ordained as a rabbi and spiritual guide in 1999 by ALEPH: The Alliance for Jewish Renewal.  She has undergraduate degrees in Hebrew Literature and Secondary Education from the University of Minnesota.  Andrea is a graduate of the Kol Zimrah Chant Leadership training and is a certified facilitator in Compassionate Listening.  Rabbi Andrea is the founding rabbi of P’nai Or of West Hartford. She now has a pulpit in Greenfield, MA and also leads our services the first Saturdays of the month.  Reb Andrea weaves a tapestry of songs and inner journeys when she is with us.

ALEPH Rabbinical Student Lorin Troderman

Lorin is a fourth year Rabbinical Student and member of the Earth Based Judaism cohort at ALEPH. He completed his first three years of Rabbinical study at Hebrew College. He moved to Maine in August 2020 where he has served as the Rabbinic Intern at Temple Beth El in Portland, Director for Southern Maine Hillel, and now serves as the Jewish Chaplain at the Maine Medical Center. Lorin aims to bring his passion for Judaism, a deep pluralistic perspective and a commitment to building healthy sustainable practices in our communities. He lives in beautiful Cape Elizabeth with his partner Sussi and her 15 year old Border Collie/Lab, Jasper. Lorin has two adult sons: his eldest, Dylan, lives in Seattle and younger son Max in Boulder. He loves to walk at sunrise and bask in the miraculous beauty of the Wabanaki Dawnlands.
